Biography
I am a self-taught stained glass artist with a lifelong-passion for creating beauty in unexpected ways. Before working in glass, I owned a successful jewelry company (Erica Freestone handmade artisan jewelry) where I honed my skills in design, craftsmanship, and working with intricate materials. Unfortunately, after more than a decade in the jewelry industry, my body could no longer tolerate long hours at the bench (you can read more of my story here). This forced me to shift my art-making process, and that’s when I happened upon an older gentleman liquidating his entire stained glass studio. I took it as a sign, purchased everything from him, and learned the art of stained glass—a medium I had long been intrigued by. My background in metalsmithing and jewelry continues to influence my stained glass work, allowing me to bring a unique perspective to the art form.
Beyond my studio, I am also a dancer, finding inspiration in the movement and emotion of dance. This connection to dance often informs my approach to design, as I strive to create pieces that feel dynamic and full of life.
Each creation is a reflection of my diverse artistic journey—blending the structural precision of my jewelry-making with the fluidity, color, and light of stained glass. My work is a celebration of transformation, movement, and the timeless interplay of color and form.
